Is it too early for retirement planning? 24 years old?
I am 24 and have absolutely no experiences with investing.
After payaing off student loan and cost of living/expenses, I will have about 50K earning/saving by Dec 2009.
So I plan to distrubute them in the following wayL
401K –> 16.5K (I contribute the max allowed)
CDK –> 20K (I will use this for future house buying)
Roth IRA –> 5K (Will open with Vanguard or Fidelity, likely to do with Vanguard Retirement 2050 Fund)
Scottrade –> 7K (I buy stocks from about 10 companies I like or know GE, Boeing, BOA, Citigroup, Macys, etc)

Help me find a good web article on early payoff of mortgages?
All articles I can find on the web advise people AGAINST early payoff of their mortgages, saying “there are better uses for your money”.
Can you help me find an article that advocates FOR early payoff? Please post the link.
Thanks
Is it possible for banks to raise cash by giving discounts to people who pay their mortgages off early?
It seems like the banks should be required to give up some assets before getting bailed out by the government and part of the deal should include some benefit to homeowners who have tried to get ahead by paying extra so they can pay off their mortgages.

How To Pay Off Your Mortgage Early. Tell It To The Judge!
Rich Iacovetta of RMI Lending discusses the latest mortgage news. www.fbfriday.com for your latest mortgage and financial news with a humorous twist. A Long Island couple is home free after an outraged judge gave them an amazing Thanksgiving present — canceling their debt to those ruthless bankers that were trying to toss them out on the street. Suffolk county Judge Jeffrey Spinner wiped out $525000 in mortgage payments demanded by One West Spinner pulled no punches and laid the smack down on the bankers of onewest saying, I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger. Ok, he didnt use those exact words, but that would have been the dialogue if I made the decision that left Diane and Greg Horoski, owing absolutely no money on their ranch house in East Patchogue NY. This sets a VERY troubling legal precedent. A precedent that judges can forgive debt for citizens who legitimately owe the debt.
Considering Consolidation – The Way Towards Multiple Accounts In Early Retirement Planning
One single question could pop to one’s mind when you are thinking about doing financial retirement. For one thing, should you work on consolidating the accounts that you already have or should you keep the accounts separately? While it is normal for people to have several accounts for retirement, it is also because they have happened to work for many companies during their careers. Therefore, while it is not that good from an organizational point of view, many people receive money for their retirement from different sources.

Why Early Retirement Planning is Important?
An often overlooked but essential way to ensure a good future for a worker is to consider early retirement planning in advance. There are important data about pensions, social security benefits, and other that the worker must know in depth. The worker should never set this information aside to find out how it all works the day before retiring. In fact, the wisest thing for a worker to do is to start considering the possibility of saving money for future use, which many people are doing nowadays when they get a fixed salary.
