There are many parts of your car you need to be aware of.  In this day and age of cars having everything automated, a lot of times maintenance of your car gets neglected.  Believe me I have seen it all owning a San Diego auto repair shop.

After all, even cheap cars are considered state of the art driving machines like the Hyundai, so it is easy to believe nothing goes wrong.

That is a huge mistake.  There are still going to be parts of your car that need to be paid attention to and maintained.  Most car owners usually do take care of oil changes.  Although for the life of your car that is important, a lot of people forget their brakes.  Which is important to the life of themselves and their family.

So let’s take a look at your brakes and knowing when it is time to change them because they have become unsafe.

The first symptom is when there is grinding or scratching you need to replace your brakes.  Usually this is a sign of the metal plates being gone that are supposed to hold the brake pads and now it rubs against the rotor.  This is not a good sign and you want to have your brakes replaced as soon as possible.

Second sign is when you have high pitch noises or loud screeching made by your brakes.  This happens by a condition they call glazed.  This occurs when someone always brakes too much and casues the rotors to heat up.  The rotors are then burned.

You fix this by going to a brake shop like my San Diego brake shop.

A third problem is vibrations.  When your rotors or drums are warped, when you are braking this will cause a vibration. This happens when their is too much heat and this causesthem to lose their shape.  When this happens, your rotor needs to be replaced.

A final problem to look at is when your brakes pull.  What happens is when you brake, your vehicle pulls in one direction.  This happens when your brakes caliper is not getting applied evenly.  A fluid leak is what causes this.  To know which side is leaking, you need to have a professional look at it.  You take care of this by having the caliper replaced and getting all the air out of the brakes.

These are the regular issues that happen with brakes.  When this does happen you need a shop that fixes brakes like we fix San Diego brakes.

When you consider your brakes are what prevents you from having accidents and running into things, this is a part of your car’s maintenance, you never want to neglect.
